Dubai chocolate has exploded from a local treat to a worldwide viral dessert, starting slowly in 2023 and still going viral today. Dubai chocolate was popularized in 2024 by influencers on social media and has since been imitated by people worldwide. According to BBC News, “Invented to satiate pregnancy cravings, Dubai chocolate is a rare combination of creativity, flavours and social media success that has broken all industry records.”
Veronica Yuen (7) stated, “Honestly, I prefer Dubai chocolate more not only because it's really popular but it also tastes better and has more flavors than a regular chocolate bar.”
Dubai chocolate was created by a dessert shop called FIX Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai. It first appeared a few years ago, but it didn’t really explode until a TikTok influencer posted a video trying it. Suddenly, everyone on social media wanted to break open that shiny bar and reveal the gooey, green pistachio filling inside. The internet went nuts — and just like that, Dubai chocolate became the dessert of everyone’s dreams.
Inside the famous bar, you’ll find layers of milk chocolate, pistachio cream, tahini (which is like sesame paste), and knafeh, a crunchy Middle Eastern pastry. It’s sweet, creamy, crunchy — the perfect combination.
“I would rate it an 8 out of 10 because the texture is crunchy, and I love crunchy chocolate, the flavor tastes like chocolate with nuttiness, and I also like the flavor,” remarked Veronica Yuen (7), who has personally tried this tasty treat.
When people crack it open, the creamy green pistachio filling oozes out, and that moment alone is social-media gold. Add a few slow-motion videos, a sparkly filter, and boom — instant fame! It’s also special because it combines Middle Eastern flavors with modern chocolate design. It’s not just another candy bar; it’s an experience. People love the mix of textures — soft cream, crunchy pastry, smooth chocolate — all at once. It’s basically the dessert version of “too good to share.”
Now here’s the not-so-sweet part — the price. Prepare your wallets, because a regular Dubai Chocolate bar usually costs $10–$20 for a small piece! Some stores even sell premium versions for more, especially when stock runs out. People are literally lining up or ordering weeks in advance just to get one bar.
Seleema Atta-Hosni, a 7th grade student who has also tried this chocolate, said, “I like it. I think I'm very familiar with pistachio flavors in general because a lot of desserts my dad would make would have pistachio in it or crumbled on it.”
As a person who has tried this viral treat, I would absolutely understand how it became popular. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and crunchiness, and the hint of pistachio fills your mouth with wonder. As a person who dislikes chocolate, I actually enjoyed Dubai chocolate! My mom claimed that this was ‘so good’, and my dad loved it so much he went to the store to buy more Dubai chocolate bars and Dubai chocolate ice cream.
If you’re as willing as my parents, maybe you should go try out this viral treat and taste this luxury chocolate!
